JAKARTA - The joint Search And Rescue (SAR) team managed to find two children in the punk community who died three days ago reported missing after being dragged by waves while swimming on the West Coast, Pangandaran Regency, West Java.
"Two of them were found last night stranded near Susi Air Airport at 20.00, another one this morning," said Head of the Water and Air Police Unit of the Pangandaran Police, AKP Sugianto, quoted from Antara, Saturday, March 25.
He said the two victims who died were Iwan (28), a resident of Karawang, West Java, and Rafael (17), a resident of Tegalsari, Central Java, both of whom were dragged by the waves while swimming at Pangandaran Beach, Thursday, March 23.
The first victim Iwan was found in a water area near Susi Air Airport, Friday, March 24 evening, then Rafael's second victim was found in the waters of the sometimes Luhur Block, West Coast, Saturday at around 08.00 WIB.
Sugianto said that initially the discovery of the victim from reports of fishermen looking for fish saw the body of a man floating in the middle of the ocean.
Furthermore, the witness who saw the body reported it to the joint SAR Team which was carrying out a search operation for the two missing victims who were dragged by the waves on the West Coast.
"The joint SAR team then evacuated the victims," he said.
He conveyed that the results of the examination of the victim's body that was found were known to be the same characteristics as the two victims who had been being sought.
The results of the medical examination, he said, found no traces of abuse or other acts of violence, so it was concluded that the victim died in a marine accident.
"There are no signs of abuse, both blunt objects and sharp objects," he said.
Head of the Pangandaran SAR Alert Unit, Edwin, said that the joint SAR team previously conducted a search by dividing into two teams, namely searching along the coast or land routes and the second team conducted a search by boat.
The results of the operation finally managed to find the two victims, so that the victim had been evacuated and taken to the Pandega Hospital before being handed over to his family.
"The victim has been evacuated by the joint SAR Team and then taken to Pandega Hospital, Pangandaran," he said.
Previously, the two victims along with fellow punk communities swam on the West Coast, an area that is a dangerous zone for swimming.
Some of the victim's colleagues then returned to the mainland, but not long after walking to the mainland, the victim screamed for help because he was dragged by the waves until he finally disappeared.
A number of witnesses then asked for help to help the victim, until finally officers from Balawista, then the Pangandaran Satpolairud and other elements conducted a search for the victim.
