JAKARTA - The United Development Party (PPP) emphasized that the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB) does not want to rush in determining the presidential candidate (candidate) in 2024. The coalition, which consists of PPP, Golkar and PAN, also plans to meet to discuss the presidential election after Eid. PPP DPP chairman Achmad Baidowi or Awiek said, most importantly KIB already has a ticket to the presidential election because it has met the presidential threshold threshold of 20 percent. "For KIB, the most important thing is that the ticket to the presidential election has been held," Awiek told reporters, Friday, March 24. Awiek revealed that currently the political parties that are members of KIB have not scheduled a meeting because each party has activities in this month of Ramadan. So that the meetings may only be held after Eid al-Fitr 2023. "Maybe later the momentum will be after Eid, because fasting is usually busy for each party," he said. According to the member of the DPR for the East Java electoral district, all political decisions must wait for momentum, especially to contest the election. Because he said, participating in the presidential election requires a strategy to win. "There are many candidates, in Indonesia, who have the potential to see the next five months, who is the most potential and most likely to win the contest. Because for KIB, participating in the presidential election is to win, not just be a contestant," explained Awiek.
