JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government plans to build waste processing facilities, namely the Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) Plant and the second lanfdil mining after previously being built at the Bantargebang TPST, Bekasi. However, no budget has yet been allocated. Head of the DKI Jakarta Environmental Agency, Asep Kuswanto, revealed that there are already SOEs interested in funding the construction of RDF Plant, namely PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN). "We have explored with PT PLN. I heard they are also interested in funding (the RDF Plant development in Rorotan). Maybe, in the near future I will meet PLN," Asep told reporters, Tuesday, March 21. There are two options for the second RDF Plant construction location, namely in Rorotan, North Jakarta, and Pegadungan, West Jakarta. Both land belongs to the DKI Jakarta City Parks and Forest Service. "I have coordinated with the Head of Distamhut to use the location of the land. Yesterday my team visited the location at Pegadungan, and today or tomorrow to visit Rorotan," said Asep. Along with the development cooperation plan, the DKI Provincial Government is also preparing a feasibility study (FS) for the construction of waste processing into coal equivalent fuel. The plan is that the construction of the second RDF Plant will begin in 2024. "If the FS is finished, in 2024 hopefully the budget will be allocated to build the facilities. We will try to do it in 2024 because this year the planning has become hopefully," said Asep. Given that the FS document has not been completed, Asep admitted that he did not know the exact value of the budget needed for its construction. The estimate is that the costs required are not much different from the RDF Plant in Bantargebang which will be inaugurated in the near future. "If you learn from what we built in Bantargebang, it's IDR 1 trillion. That's the possibility (second RDF Plant) too," he said.
