JAKARTA - The National Legal Development Agency (BPHN) of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights recorded a number of cases involving children as perpetrators or children Faced with Law (ABH). In the last three years, the top three categories of cases handled by BPHN through a free legal aid program include cases of theft, narcotics abuse, and other cases such as bullying or bullying.

In the context of prevention, Widodo said, BPHN has the authority to provide direct legal briefing and guidance to students or school students.

Through the role of a functional legal extension official, students or school students will be given an understanding of the actions often taken by teenagers, who have the potential to violate the provisions of laws and regulations as well as an explanation of children's responsibilities in the event that they are involved in cases as child perpetrators.

For information, for the period 2020 2022, there were 2,338 child cases faced with the law consisting of 2,271 male and 67 female children handled by BPHN through 619 OBH accredited by BPHN.

The top three cases involving children face the law, related to the theft of 838 cases, the abuse of 341 narcotics cases, and other cases such as pornography, bullying, and traffic accidents.

BPHN claims that debriefing and coaching programs for teenagers are routinely carried out. However, said Widodo, his party will continue to try to reduce this number through a number of programs.

"527 functional officials of Legal Counseling, 6,208 advocates, and 5,744 Paralegals will collaborate," concluded Widodo.
