LABUAN BAJO - West Manggarai Police, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) has named two suspects in the alleged corruption case of the 2019 Rangko Cave tourism boardwalk continued project at the West Manggarai Tourism and Culture Office with a loss of IDR 670 million.

"From some of the information and witnesses examined, there is sufficient evidence, today we have named two suspects in the Rangko Cave case, namely brother TB as the Commitment Making Officer and brother of FT as the Attorney Director of Graha Mandiri Pratama as the implementing contractor," said West Manggarai Police Head of Criminal Investigation Unit, AKP Ridwan quoted by ANTARA, Monday, March 20.

Allegations of corruption related to the continued work of the Rangko Cave tourism boardwalk in 2019 at the West Manggarai Tourism and Culture Office were carried out by CV Graha Mandiri Pratama with a value of IDR 737,163,398 from July 23, 2019 to December 19, 2019.

The work received an addendum to contract I on November 7, 2019. However, the work was damaged in early 2021 and the physical dock has not yet been handed over or final handover (FHO).

"The state financial loss for this case is Rp. 670,148,544," said Ridwan.

In this case, the police secured 16 large brown envelopes containing documents for the implementation of changes to the budget for regional work units (DPPA SKPD) of the West Manggarai Tourism and Culture Office for the 2019 fiscal year dated April 2, 2019, technical planning documents, procurement processes, contract implementation documents, technical supervision documents, payment documents (technical planning and implementation), and other documents.

Ridwan said the articles suspected of the two suspects were Primary Article 2 Paragraph 1 subsidiary to Article 3 of Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption in conjunction with Article 55 Paragraph 1 to 1e of the Criminal Code.

"Starting today, we will send this case to the prosecutor's office and follow up with the summoning of the suspect," he stressed.

Prior to the determination of the suspect, the West Manggarai Police carried out various actions including initial investigations, case titles, examination of 21 witnesses, confiscation of documents, and examination of experts.
