JAKARTA - All nightclubs in Bandar Lampung City were asked to close their activities during the holy month of Ramadan. The request came from the Bandar Lampung City Government (Pemkot).

"Various entertainment venues, pubs, karaoke, billiards, discotheques, massage parlors during the month of Ramadan are completely closed," said Bandar Lampung Mayor Eva Dwiana to reporters, Monday, March 20, as reported by Antara.

"Yes, restaurants can still open, but they have to put up curtains during the day to honor people who are fasting in the month of Ramadan," he said.

Head of the Bandar Lampung Tourism Office Ariawan said the local city government would immediately issue a Circular (SE) regarding nightclubs and restaurants in the Holy month of Ramadan.

"This circular refers to the Bandar Lampung City Regulation Number 3 of 2017 concerning Tourism. So they are asked to respect the Ramadan fasting month which is expected to fall on March 23, 2023," he said.

He said entertainment venues such as discotheques, pubs, bars, and the like were advised not to open activities during Ramadan from D-2 Ramadan to D+3 Idul Fitri 1444 Hijri.

"If someone violates, of course, we emphasize administrative sanctions, usually a warning will be given according to the stages until the revocation of business activity permits," said Ariawan.
