Considered Disturbing, Fake Prophet In Donggala, Central Sulawesi Finally Expelled By Residents

PALU - The Resort Police (Polres) of Donggala Regency, Central Sulawesi Province said the man admitted that the prophet who temporarily lived in the district had been expelled by residents because he was considered disturbing.

"We receive information that people who claim to be prophets have been expelled by residents, and this information is within the jurisdiction of the Labuan Police," said Donggala Police Chief AKBP Etos Satria, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, March 17.

Labuan Police Chief AKP Syarif was contacted separately, confirming that a man claimed to be a messenger or prophet in the Nupa Bomba Village area, Tanatovea District.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, five men living temporarily in one of the 5th Hamlet prayer rooms or the coffee plantation area, Nupa Bomba Village, and the five people were not residents of Donggala Regency. "Of these five people, one of them claimed to be a prophet, and four others were his followers," said Syarif.

Based on their confession, he said, Bhabinkamtibmas together with village heads, hamlet heads, religious leaders and dozens of local residents met the five men, of which the five people came from different areas. Three people came from Medan, North Sumatra Province, one person came from Batam, Riau Islands Province and one other person came from Bitung, North Sulawesi Province.

"When I met the five, I didn't want to mention names," he said.

From the reports received by his party, these five people believed that there was a guardian/decision (unsenseful person) from Allah who is now present for mankind in preparing for a near end, obliged to give sacrifices. "From that explanation, the village head and local residents took the initiative to expel them because they were considered heretical and feared that they could become victims of the residents' tantrums. The five people have left, although monitoring is still carried out and of course their confession has the potential to disturb the residents," said Syarif.
