Strange, There Are DKI Provincial Government Officials Demotionted For No Clear Reason

JAKARTA - An echelon IV official in the DKI Jakarta Goods and Services Procurement Service Agency (BPPBJ) unit, Maulana, revealed the peculiarity of the demotion he received for no apparent reason.

Since 2020, Maulana has served as Head of the Subdivision of Administration of the DKI City Hall Goods and Services Procurement Service Unit (UPPBJ). This year, he received a proposal from his leadership to be promoted to Head of UPPBJ City Hall.

"Initially, I was informed by my leadership that I would be promoted to be definitive as Head of UPPBJ City Hall. That's echelon IIIB. I got this letter, I proposed that it be promoted to echelon III," Maulana told reporters, Thursday, March 16.

On Friday, March 10, the DKI Jakarta Regional Secretary inaugurated 607 officials within the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government. Maulana became one of the officials who was also appointed.

After the inauguration, Maulana just found out that she had been promoted and transferred from the position of Head of Subdivision TU UPPBJ DKI City Hall to become the section head in Kebon Manggis Village, East Jakarta.

"When I was inaugurated, I was even sentenced to become the head of the section in the sub-district whose echelon was IVB. My position, before this inauguration was the echelon of IVA. This means that there is a demotion," he said.

Maulana was surprised and did not know what caused her to be demoted. Because, Maulana never underwent an examination report (BAP) for her mistakes. In fact, this BAP is a requirement for civil servants to be promoted.

"This means that there is arbitrariness in moving people at will. If there is a complaint, I will be wrong, I will be banned. Now I am being promoted without this BAP procedure. There is no clarification or examination from me," explained Maulana.

From this case, Maulana hopes that the error in the demotion procedure he received can be a concern for the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono. Because, according to him, this demoting problem did not only happen to him.

"What I want to demand is justice for this procedural error. There is no BAP for me, then I have to be downgraded without any clear procedures. I'm sure I'm not the only one being promoted without a clear cause," he added.
