JAKARTA - Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos) Tri Rismaharini emphasized the importance of the role of local governments in efforts to prevent children exposed to terrorism and acts of radicalism. Prevention efforts are much more important than handling. Social Minister Risma emphasized the importance of the role of local governments, when the Minister of Social Affairs described her experience while serving as regional head of the Mayor of Surabaya in 2010 - 2020. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Social Affairs provides residential-based social rehabilitation services for families and children exposed to low to moderate levels of radicalism. Services include meeting basic needs, comprehensive health checks, psychosocial and mental therapy, family support, vocational training and/or entrepreneurship development, and accessibility support such as education.
