JAKARTA - Head of the Indonesian Air Force Information Service Marsma TNI Indan Gilang Buldansyah appealed to the public to report to the nearest task force if they find fake soldiers.

This statement is Indan's response to the hectic news about fake soldiers claiming to have the rank of lieutenant colonel (letkol). The fake army was arrested in Tangerang, Banten, and claiming to be part of the Indonesian Air Force.

"Regarding fake, I think anyone who sees doubts about one person, report them to the nearest unit, yes," said Indan as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, March 16.

What he meant regarding the nearest unit was the police, Koramil, Kodim, Polres, or even the nearest Indonesian Air Force unit.

In addition to reporting the incident to the nearest unit, Indan also said that the Indonesian Air Force has a channel to report the findings on social media. The report can be made to the address and telephone number that has been listed on these channels.

"We have included the address. There is also a phone number, you can report it," said Indan.

Furthermore, Indan said that it is not difficult to distinguish between fake soldiers and real soldiers. First, said Indan, these differences can be seen from the uniforms worn.

"For the TNI, it is clear from the uniform, where the unit is, the identity is there. Just ask," said Indan.

Then, soldiers can also be distinguished from clear orders. Wherever a soldier moves, he must have a clear warrant.

Therefore, when a soldier is found who comes somewhere at work every day during working hours, he can be asked about a warrant to determine whether the soldier is a TNI or a fake soldier.

"I think it's a serious violation, yes. And there will definitely be sanctions or penalties for people," said Indan.

Previously, a fake Indonesian Navy (AL) soldier was arrested on Thursday 9 March. The man with the initials MQ was arrested by a joint team from the Naval Military Police Center (Puspomal) and the Navy Main Base (Lantamal) III Pomal at his residence in Sukamanah Village, Rajeg District, Tangerang Regency.

The arrest began with information related to one of the residents who claimed to be a member of the TNI with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. After further investigation, the team moved to the location where the alleged perpetrator lived.
