AHY's Criticism Response To Jokowi's Government, PPP Calls Hambalang's Project More Real

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairperson of the United Development Party (PPP), Arsul Sani responded to the political speech of the Chairman of the Democratic Party, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY), who criticized President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi) government policy of not taking sides with the poor or little people. According to Arsul, AHY does not deserve the ongoing Jokowi-Ma'ruf government. Instead, he said, what was right was to criticize Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY)-Boediono's government policy because the period had been completed. "It is more fitting for us, for example, to criticize or assess the SBY-Budiono government program, because his tenure has passed and see the results," said Arsul, Thursday, March 16. The deputy chairman of the MPR then brought up the mega corruption case of Hambalang and Century Bank in the SBY administration era. According to him, it should be criticized regarding SBY's policy in the Hambalang National Center for Education, Training, and Sports Facilities (P3SON) project or an integrated sports center known as the Hambalang project. He considered that the corruption of the Hambalang project was more evident in its 'insults' than assessing the ongoing government. "The Hambalang project is actually more real," said Arsul. He said the financial sector or banking stabilization program of Century Bank in the SBY era failed due to corruption in its implementation. In fact, said Arsul, the legal process has not been completed until now. "Then the state suffered a loss because it could not be recovered and the project stalled," he explained. He also mentioned the deforestation policy or the release of forest areas, which has an extraordinary amount of area during the 10 years of the SBY Government. "That can also be questioned for the benefits of the underprivileged and for the preservation of our environment," said Arsul.
