Recovery Of Manpower Absorption, Minister Of Manpower Asks Local Governments To Create Innovation

JAKARTA - The Minister of Manpower, Ida Fauziyah emphasized innovation, synergy and commitment between the central and regional governments in providing labor.

"My appreciation to all service heads in charge of manpower in the regions that have contributed to comprehensive employment efforts," said Minister of Manpower Ida as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, March 15.

He conveyed that in an effort to restore the development of the labor sector in 2022, the Ministry of Manpower has gone through several achievements, including competency-based training to 146,797 people, domestic apprenticeship as many as 40,619 people, foreign apprenticeship to 14,674 people.

Then, certification to 216,874 people, the creation of 126,709 Mandiri Workers, labor-intensive programs to 44,960 people, placement of domestic and foreign workers to 322,197 people, and 778,328 companies have reported to WLKP online.

Minister of Manpower Ida said that the complexity of employment challenges is currently experiencing uncertainty and dynamic, therefore in 2023 the government through the Ministry of Manpower has taken policies to strengthen and develop Active Market Policy.

He put forward several points on the implementation policy, including first, expanding access and increasing community participation in increasing labor competence, through the masification of vocational training at BLK and BLKK, apprenticeship, increasing productivity, and BLK transformation programs.

Second, strengthen and expand job market service access, both at home and abroad through improving job market information systems, SIAP Work, Job Fair (both virtual and non-virtual) services.

Then, strengthen the job opportunity expansion program, such as labor-intensive and advanced TKM, in areas that are national development priorities, such as priority tourism areas, extreme poverty, borders, and strategic industrial areas.

In addition, increasing the protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers comprehensively, both at the pre-, during and after placement stage.

Third, overseeing together the discussion of the PPRT Bill, socializing the Minister of Manpower Regulation Number 4 of 2023 concerning Social Security for Indonesian Migrant Workers, strengthening bipartite social dialogue, and increasing the participation of Employment Social Security.

Fourth, revitalizing the K3 Hall and increasing community participation in employment supervision and K3 as well as increasing the implementation of non-discrimination policies in the employment sector, especially for female workers and persons with disabilities.

In its implementation, according to him, the budget for Deconcentration and Assistance is not enough to implement all active labor market policies in overcoming all problems and challenges in the employment sector.

"Therefore, I hope that the budget sourced from the APBD is also collaborated and integrated, so that it can meet various strategic targets for national labor development," said Minister of Manpower Ida.
