Polda Metro Jaya and Customs and Excise Soekarno-Hatta Airport thwarted an attempt to smuggle 64 capsules containing 1.072 kilograms of methamphetamine from Ethiopia. The perpetrator who is a foreign national (WNA) from Nigeria was named a suspect. "Then we tried the analysis and we checked it turned out that the luggage was zero," said Gatot. Then, officers examined the suspect's body parts through narcotics and were found to be positive for narcotics. Thus, the examination continued through X-ray methods to find out the inside of his body. "From the Rontgen, it turns out that there are capsules or strange objects in his stomach," said Gatot. On the other hand, it is said that it will take two days for all capsules containing methamphetamine in their stomach to be removed by defecating. After calculating there are 64 capsules in the suspect's stomach. "We tried to get it out immediately because it was feared that everything would break inside but Alhamdulillah everything could be issued, 4 times and then the fifth X-ray turned out to be empty," said Gatot. In this case, the Nigerian foreigner was charged with Article 115 paragraph (2) subsidiary Article 113 paragraph (2) subsidiary Article 112 paragraph (2) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics. Thus, he faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.
