BANYUMAS - A resident of Central Sokaraja Village, Banyumas Regency, Central Java, Bambang Pujianto (64) sued the Banyumas Regency Government for building a market building on land owned by his family. Bambang said the lawsuit was due to persuasive efforts. However, the Banyumas Regency Government only promised to resolve the issue without any certainty. "I have registered a civil lawsuit with the Banyumas District Court on Monday, March 13, 2023," Bambang said when contacted, Antara, Wednesday, March 15. In the lawsuit with Case Number 11 / Pdt.G / 2023 / PN Bms dated March 13, 2023, he asked the Banyumas Regency Government to return land belonging to his family and vacate and knock down buildings at Sangkalputung Market, Sokaraja, which incidentally is his family's land. Bambang also asked the Banyumas Regency Government to pay immaterial compensation of Rp. 20 billion. "We also plan to report criminal acts of land grabbing and illegal levies to the Banyumas Police," he said. The Banyumas Regency Government in 1981 built Sangkalputung Market on an area of 2,852 square meters and of that area, 1,277 square meters of which were land belonging to Hendro Pudjisantoso who was his younger brother. According to him, this is evidenced by the land ownership certificate numbered 01961 in the name of Hendro Pudjisantoso which is located in Central Sokaraja Village, RT 03/RW 07. In addition to certificates, he said, ownership of land covering an area of 1,227 square meters was also strengthened by proof of payment of land and building taxes (PBB) every year as well as information from the Central Sokaraja Village Government which stated that there was no process of buying and selling the land. On a separate occasion, the Head of the Legal Section of the Banyumas Regional Secretariat, Arif Rahman, said that his party was still waiting for a notification from the Banyumas District Court. "Later on the process, the Banyumas District Court will inform us all of them of giving material for the lawsuit," he explained. Prior to the lawsuit, his party had discussed the land issue with related elements, including forming a ground status tracing team. "It is still on progress, including assistance by the Banyumas District Attorney," he said. Previously, the Chairman of Commission I of the Banyumas Regency DPRD, Sardi Susanto, urged the local district government to return the land belonging to the Bambang Pujianto family for Sangkalputung Market. According to him, the land owned by the residents has been controlled by the Banyumas Regency Government for 39 years, which means that it has benefited from the withdrawal of levies. "If it's not their right (the right of the Banyumas Regency Government, ed.), why not return it to the owner," he said in Purwokerto, Banyumas Regency, Friday (24/2).
