Emergency Response In Kendari Extended Until March 19

The Kendari City Government (Pemkot) has extended the disaster emergency response status in its area until March 19.

NORTH SULAWESI - The Kendari City Government (Pemkot) has extended its disaster emergency response status in its area until March 19.

Head of the Kendari City Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Paminuddin said that currently the City Planning Task Force team is still moving to arrange and trim trees at a number of points in Kendari City, Southeast Sulawesi.

"The City Planning Task Force is still moving," said Paminuddin in Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi Province (Sultra), Monday, March 13, which was confiscated by Antara.

He revealed that his party is currently making cuts on Jalan Poros Punggolaka, Puuwatu District and on Jalan Laure III, Mandonga District in accordance with residents' requests.

"Currently the team is still making cuts based on residents' requests," he continued.

Paminuddin revealed that the pruning of trees was a continuation of the extension of the emergency response status set by the Kendari City Government after the Hidrometeorological natural disaster.

"The status of the disaster emergency response has been extended from 19-19 March 2023," he said.

He emphasized that the entire team worked simultaneously with full strength to take steps to accelerate improvements, including prevention.

"The team also recorded the loss of residents damaged by strong winds that hit Kendari City last week," he said.

Not only in Puuwatu and Mandonga sub-districts, the City Planning Task Force team also worked in West Kendari District to Baruga sub-district with a mobile system.

As for the transportation of used pruning tree waste, said Paminuddin, his party has provided as many as 20 units of trucks to transport it.

"For garbage transportation after felling and pruning trees, it takes as many as 20 units of trucks to be deployed," he said.

The City Planning Task Force team involved several agencies, namely the Fire Department (Damkar), the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP), the Transportation Service (Dishub), BPBD, the Environment and Forestry Service (DLHK), and the Kendari City Public Works Service, as well as TNI-Polri personnel.
