Preventing Transmission Between Animals, Lampung Provincial Government Provides Mobile Rabies Vaccine Services

In order to prevent transmission between animals, the Lampung Provincial Government (Pemprov) has prepared a rabies vaccination service for mobile health services for pets.

"So in order to facilitate people who have pets, the Cat's service has been opened or a mobile visit service system," said Head of the UPTD Animal Health Service Center, Veterinary Public Health and Lampung Provincial Pakan Laboratory Christin Septriansyah, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, March 13.

He said the house-to-house pet inspection service aims to make it easier for the people of Lampung to maintain the health of pets from various diseases.

"The service technique is carried out based on the public's request, so the condition is that there are at least 20 pets that will be examined in one location and we will go directly to provide animal health services," he said.

He explained that the collective mobile animal examination service is available in Pesawaran, South Lampung and Bandarlampung Regencies.

"This is only done for pets, for large animals such as cows and goats, you can do it to the nearest Puskeswan. Meanwhile, the service has only reached three areas, it will be improved again," he said.

He continued in carrying out mobile health services for the pets, also providing free rabies vaccination services.

"So it can also provide free rabies vaccination services for pets in order to support the imposition and free of rabies targeted in 2030," he said.

According to him, by 2023, 1,200 doses of rabies vaccine can be available to pets from the people of Lampung.

"This treatment service or vaccination every Monday-Friday. For mass rabies vaccinations, every September during the month of animal service. For the number of rabies vaccines available in 2022, there are 1,000 doses, and this year 1,200 doses so this is able to provide rabies vaccination services for people who have pets," he added.
