Overcoming The Spread Of Rubella Measles, Central Papua Health Office Speeds Up Immunization

CENTRAL PAPUA - The outbreak of rubella Measles in Dogiyai, Paniai, and Intan Jaya Regencies, has made the Central Papua Health Office race against time to overcome it.

According to data from the Central Papua Health Office, this rubella camper case has caused three deaths. For this, immunization needs to be rushed to overcome it.

Acting Head of the Central Papua Health Service, dr. Silvanus Sumule, admitted that three cases of death due to rubella niche came from Dogiyai, Paniai, and Intan Jaya Regencies.

However, he added, of the eight districts that entered the province of Central Papua, it was recorded that there were five districts whose residents were affected by rubella Measles and underwent outpatient care as many as 197 people spread across Mimika, Nabire, Puncak Jaya, Dogiyai and Deiyai Regencies. There were 36 people who were still hospitalized from Nabire Regency, Puncak Jaya, Paniai, Intan Jaya, Puncak and 227 people recovered.

For the target of the rubellaUM vaccine, the Central Papua Health Office will target babies aged 9 months to 59 months targeting 88,383 people.

"Health workers will be deployed as much as possible to vaccinate the babies, so that they will have the durability tocarp," said dr. Sumule, quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, March 11.
