JAMBI - The East Tanjung Jabung (Tanjabtim) District Attorney's Office (Kejari) Jambi forcibly picked up two defendants in the corruption case of the Tanjabtim Regional Head Election grant. The execution was carried out after the Supreme Court (MA) granted the appeal of the Public Prosecutor (JPU) of the Prosecutor's Office.

Head of the Information and Law Section (Kasi Penkum) of the Jambi Prosecutor's Office, Lexy Fatharani, said the two defendants in the case were former Chairman of the KPU Tanjabtim Nurkholis and his lawyer, Tengku Ardiansyah. Both were executed from their respective homes.

Based on an Antara report, the execution of the defendant Nurkholis was carried out on Wednesday, March 8, at 19.00 WIB at Lazio Housing, Jambi City.

In accordance with the verdict Number: 6608K/Pid.sus/2022, the defendant Nurkholis was found guilty of committing a criminal act of corruption together.

For his actions, the judge sentenced the defendant Nurkholis to 4 years in prison and a fine of Rp. 50 million. Unpaid fines will be replaced with imprisonment for 1 month.

Meanwhile, Tengku Ardiansyah was forcibly picked up at Ratu Mas Talang Bakung Housing, Jambi City, on the same day at 20.00 WIB

Ardiansyah was legally and convincingly proven guilty of committing a criminal act by deliberately obstructing the investigation of witnesses in a corruption case.

The panel of judges sentenced Ardiansyah to 3 years in prison and a fine of Rp. 200 million. If the fine is not paid, it will be replaced with imprisonment for 2 months.
