Vice President Ma'ruf Amin Affirms Indonesia's Readiness To Become The Main Partner Of Kyoto Halal Business

JAKARTA - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin emphasized Indonesia's readiness to become the main partner of halal business development in Japan, especially Kyoto. "Indonesia is also ready to become the main partner of the development of the halal business in Kyoto," said Vice President Ma'ruf during a meeting with Kyoto Governor Takatoshi Nishiwaki at Kyoto Guest House, Antara, Wednesday, March 8. Moreover, said the Vice President, Japan will hold Expo 2025 which is planned to take place in the Kyoto Kansai and Prefecture, including in the Kansai area. "Moreover, Kyoto is a place where guests from various countries will visit," he said. Vice President Ma'ruf stressed that the development of the halal business in Kyoto can be carried out through cooperation in halal certification for Japanese products, especially for food, drinks, and medicines. "I also hope that processed food business players from Kyoto can also do business in Indonesia," hoped the Vice President. The vice president added that the development of the halal business in Japan had received the green light from Prime Minister Fumio Kishida. This was conveyed by Prime Minister Kishida when Vice President Ma'ruf Amin came to Japan to attend the funeral of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in 2022. "When I met Prime Minister Kishida, I conveyed that apart from trade and culture issues, I also conveyed economic and sharia issues, including the halal industry. He welcomed and even ordered the relevant ministers to follow up," said the vice president. In this case, Governor Nishiwaki welcomed the development of the halal business offered by Vice President Ma'ruf. "Regarding what you offer, I hope it can help develop the halal industry in Kyoto," he said. Meanwhile, regarding products certified halal in Kyoto, Nishiwaki revealed that the number has started to increase. "So, we need to report, there are many halal foods and drinks that have been certified, many," he said.
