3 Victims Of Sexual Violence Get Psychological Assistance, The Perpetrators Are 'Detrusted' In Mukomuko

BENGKULU - The Department of Population Control, Family Planning, Women's Empowerment, and Child Protection (DP2KBP3A) of Mukomuko Regency has provided psychological assistance to three children victims of sexual violence in their area since the incident in March 2023 "We accompanied these three children since reporting to several weeks ago until now," said Head of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Division DP2KBP3A Mukomuko Vivi Novriani in his statement, Tuesday, March 7, quoted by Antara. He said, during January to March, as many as three children with the status of elementary school students in Mukomuko were reported to be victims of sexual violence by men over 50 years of age.

Three victims of sexual violence, two of whom are still in class III and one grade VI of elementary school. He said that the perpetrators of sexual abuse against minors had been secured by the Mukomuko Resort Police since a week ago. "Village parties entrusted this perpetrator to the Resort Police. If they were allowed to go home, they were feared to be killed by residents," he said. He said that his party was accompanying these three children to ensure psychologically whether they felt inferior because cases like this were stored in a child's memory. However, at the time of the investigation report (BAP) these three children could still be spoken to and there was no problem with their psychology. "When the child's BAP can still be spoken to and there is no problem. If the incident disturbs child psychology, then there is an effort to assist from psychologists," he said.

Regarding the handling of cases of sexual violence against children, he said, his party cannot intervene, it's just that he hopes to handle this case as quickly as possible. In addition, he hopes that law enforcement officers will impose criminal sanctions on perpetrators of sexual violence against children in accordance with applicable regulations. "Now we are waiting for a trial decision. Now the legal process is ongoing against the perpetrators," he said.
