Secretary General of the PDI-P (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto said his party did not only look at the survey results to choose the name of the presidential candidate. There are many considerations and the final results will be conveyed by PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri. This was conveyed in response to the high electability of the Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo. His name is often ranked high in various presidential candidates surveys in the 2024 General Election. "The considerations are not only from surveys. There are many considerations and Mrs. Mega who will later make a decision," Hasto told reporters at the PDIP DPP Party School, Lenteng Agung, Jakarta, Thursday, March 2. Hasto said the survey results were dynamic. In fact, there are many motives lately, including who is the sponsor. Thus, PDIP does not want to just believe in the results of the presidential candidate electability survey. "For the PDI-P, we believe that in choosing a leader with the responsibility to bring Indonesia's glory to more than 270 million Indonesians, ideological, visionary, grounded leadership is needed, which has professional abilities, and a good track record," he said. Various surveys have indeed placed Ganjar's name in the top rank with high electability. Most recently, the results of the Indonesia Polling Stations (IPS) survey stated that the governor's name was in second place with electability reaching 22.1 percent. Meanwhile, in the first position, the figure with the highest electability was Gerindra Party Chair Prabowo Subianto with 33.2 percent. Meanwhile, under Ganjar, there is the name of the former Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan with an electability of 20.9 percent.
