Heavy Damage Due To Earthquake, Ministry Of Religion Helps IDR 13.22 Billion For Madrasahs In Cianjur

The Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) distributed aid worth Rp. 13.2 billion for madrasas severely damaged by the earthquake in Cianjur, West Java in January.

"The Rp13.2 billion budget will be distributed to 64 madrasas, consisting of 6 Madrasah Aliyah, 22 Madrasah Tsanawiyah, 21 Madrasah Ibtidaiyah, and 15 Raudlatul Athfal," said Director General of Islamic Education at the Ministry of Religion M. Ali Ramdhani quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, March 2.

Dhani said the assistance came from the Realizing Education program funds's Promise-Madrasah Education Quality Reform (REP-MEQR) or better known as Madrasah Reform.

According to him, this step is a form of the Ministry of Religion's concern for madrasas affected by the earthquake so that they can immediately provide education services.

Meanwhile, the Director of the Madrasah Islamic Institutional and Student Facilities Curriculum (KSKK) Moh. Ishom said the assistance provided was varied, according to conditions of madrasah damage, ranging from severe, moderate damage, and minor damage.

He said all aid recipient madrasas had been surveyed, recorded, and assessed by construction experts from the World Bank and Ministry of Religion.

"What is certain is that the madrasas for recipients of aid are officially registered at the Ministry of Religion as an educational unit and contained in the Indonesian Ministry of Religion's EMIS data," he said.

Chairman of the Project Management Unit Realizing (PMU) REP-MEQR Abdul Rouf said the disbursement process would be carried out by a channeling bank that had collaborated with the Ministry of Religion.

Currently, he said, madrasas who will receive assistance have received Technical Guidance (Bimtek) related to the use of aid funds.

"All the disbursement processes, there are no deductions. If there are parties who cut outside the laws and regulations, please report them to the Ministry of Religion," he said.
