NTT - The Kupang City Government (Pemkot) has set a day to consume food or drinks that contain kelor in schools.

This was stated in a circular issued by the Head of the Kupang City Education and Culture Office, Dumuliahi Djami. The circular stated that the mandatory day of consumption of food or drinks containing kelor leaves applies on Wednesdays and Fridays every week.

"Especially for Wednesdays and Fridays, food or drinks containing kelor are required," he said in the circular, Wednesday, March 1, which was confiscated by Antara.

Dumuliahi said that this policy applies to all students of Paud, SD/MI and SMP/Mts in the Kupang City area, East Nusa Tenggara.

He explained that kelor is a plant that has a variety of nutrients. According to him, these plants have high levels of vitamin C and potassium and protein and minerals.

Dumuliahi added that consuming kelor is beneficial for strengthening endurance, maintaining skin health, controlling blood sugar levels and maintaining heart health.

"In addition, it also protects the body from arsenic toxins and inhibits the growth of cancer cells," he said.

Karena itu, kata Dumuliahi, dengan manfaat kelor yang sangat besar tersebut bagi pertumbuhan dan perkembangan fisik anak maka pihaknya lalu mengeluarkan adaran tersebut.

Previously, NTT Governor Viktor B Laiskodat had inflamed kelor cultivation. The NTT Provincial Government has also had a vision to realize NTT as a kelor province because its potential is very good and also to reduce stunting in NTT.
