Moeldoko Reminds Inclusive Messages To Religious Organizations

Dr. Moeldoko met a number of representatives of the undergraduate class, women's ties, and the association of teachers and lecturers from the Al Jam'iyatul Washliyah organization. (28/2).

JAKARTA - Presidential Chief of Staff Dr. Moeldoko emphasized the importance for religious organizations to use an inclusive approach, build and develop an environment that is open to all parties.

The message to appreciate this difference was conveyed by Moeldoko when he met a number of representatives of the undergraduate class, women's ties, and the association of teachers and lecturers from the Al Jam'iyatul Washliyah organization, at the Bina Graha Building, Jakarta, Tuesday, February 28.

"I really hope that the Al Washliyah organization can become an important part of the nation's development," said Moeldoko.

I also advise that the value of inclusiveness continue to be upheld. There is no longer a minority and majority term because this country is built together, through togetherness in diversity. So, there should be no exclusivity that distinguishes one religious organization from another," he added.

Meanwhile, the Al Jam'iyatul Washliyah organization, or better known as Al Washliyah, is an Islamic organization founded in the city of Medan, North Sumatra, since 1930. Al Washliyah is one of the organizations that also fought to free the Indonesian people from colonial entanglement.

Not only focusing on the practice of Islamic teachings, Al Washliyah currently also has various programs in various fields of youth in the realm of politics, intellectual and economic development.

The Presidential Chief of Staff also hopes for a religious organization filled with many young scholars.

"The organization is already old but the thinking must remain young. Progressive thoughts are important in the midst of a global situation with extraordinary changes, high speed, high complexity and always having a surprising factor. The way to deal with this uncertain situation is to keep thinking progressively, so as not to be left behind," concluded Moeldoko.
