LEMBANG - Wangunsari Village Head, Lembang District, West Bandung Regency, Diki Rohani said, the number of residents suspected of being poisoned reached more than 200 people.
Residents generally start experiencing symptoms of poisoning such as nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea on Monday, February 27 at around 02.00 WIB. Symptoms of poisoning are thought to have occurred after residents consumed food provided in one celebration on Sunday, February 26.
On Monday, 155 residents reported experiencing symptoms of poisoning to the emergency health post and on Tuesday there were 27 more people who experienced similar symptoms.
"There are 31 residents who seek treatment at a clinic around Wangunsari Village and two people who seek treatment at a hospital in Bandung City because they experience similar symptoms but do not report to the post," he explained at the Emergency Health Post in Wangunsari Village, West Bandung Regency, Antara, Tuesday, February 28.
Diki said that of the 182 people who reported to the post because they experienced similar symptoms of poisoning, seven people were referred to Lembang Hospital for further treatment. Most residents who experience similar symptoms of poisoning undergo treatment in their respective homes.
"I coordinate with all RWs. If there are people who feel that there are symptoms, they immediately report to the post. We from the village add an ambulance to anticipate as soon as possible if something needs to be referred," said Diki.
"This afternoon we also picked up three people to go to the hospital, but it is not certain whether they are being treated (there) or not," he added.
Diki estimates that around 500 people attended the celebration and ate food which allegedly caused many residents to be poisoned.
