Increasingly, Floods Submerged 118 RTs In Jakarta This Afternoon

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) recorded an increase in the number of flood points in Jakarta as of 17.00 WIB. Previously, at 13.00 WIB, floods were spread across 104 RTs. Now, the flood has inundated 118 RTs with water levels up to 1.75 meters. In addition, 4 roads are still inundated, namely Jalan Sungai Begog, Semper Timur Village, North Jakarta; Jalan Sakti VII, Petukangan Selatan Village, South Jakarta; Jalan Perumahan Green Garden RW 04 (Front MCD) North Kedoya Village, West Jakarta; and Jalan Haji Marzuki, Kedoya Selatan Village, West Jakarta. "BPBD recorded that the inundation previously occurred on 3 roads and 104 RTs, currently there are 4 roads inundated and 118 RTs or 0.387 percent of the 30,470 RTs in the DKI Jakarta area," said Head of BPBD DKI Jakarta Isnawa Adji in his statement, Monday, February 27. In addition, 274 residents also fled to places of worship and schools. In detail, 173 people in Kedaung Kaliangke Village, 72 jiiwa in North Kedoya Village, 22 people in North Kembangan, and 7 people at SDN Kampung Melayu 01 Pagi. Isnawa explained that the flood occurred after rain with moderate to heavy intensity that hit most of DKI Jakarta and its surroundings last night until this morning. According to BMKG information, the average rainfall in Jakarta is 50-100 millimeters per day. Extreme rainfall or rain with very heavy intensity occurred around the Sunter Hulu region (rainfall of 105 millimeters per day), Climatology Station Banten (105 millimeters), andATIONal Pump (100 millimeters). "As a result, there has been an increase in the alert status of the Manggarai Water Gate, Fish Market Sluice Gate, and Karet Water Gate to Alert 3 (Alert), Angke Hulu Post, and Sunter Hulu Post to Alert 2 (Alert) and inundation in the DKI Jakarta area," said Isnawa. Isnawa said that his party deployed 267 personnel of the DKI BPBD Rapid Response Team (TRC) to suction inundation and ensure that the water lines were functioning properly.
