PAN Gives A Signal Supporting Ganjar-Erick In The 2024 Presidential Election, Golkar CONTINUES To Propose Airlangga To KIB

JAKARTA - The Golkar Party continues to propose the name of General Chair Airlangga Hartarto as a presidential candidate (candidate) to the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB). Although PAN gave a signal to support the Governor of Central Java Ganjar Pranowo in pairs with SOE Minister Erick Thohir as a pair of presidential and vice presidential candidates in the upcoming 2024 presidential election. "Golkar is clearly going to carry Airlangga Hartarto in accordance with the mandate of the Golkar National Conference," said Golkar Party spokesman Tantowi Yahya, Monday, February 27. Tantowi invites political parties that are members of KIB to propose the name of their presidential and vice presidential candidates who will be supported for the presidential election. Because later, he said, the names would be discussed and decided with the coalition. "KIB has 3 parties. Two other coalition members, PAN and PPP have not issued recommendations regarding the vice presidential candidate. So go ahead if PAN and PPP come with names that they think are in accordance with their internal aspirations," explained Tantowi. "If later all of them have a name recommendation, then KIB will sit down together to formulate who will be carried along with the existing candidates," he added. Tantowi emphasized that Golkar would not intervene in the decision of political parties at KIB regarding the names proposed by each party internally. Moreover, he said, currently discussions in the coalition are still focused on missions and visions. "Golkar is definitely not in a position for the internal intervention of other parties. Currently, the intra-KIB discussion is more focused on the vision and mission of the coalition, something that the people should know. So there must be a clear differentiation between KIB and other coalitions," said Tantowi. Previously, PAN chairman Zulkifli Hasan endorsed Ganjar Pranowo in front of President Jokowi at the PAN Election Winning Coordination Meeting in Semarang. Initially, Zulhas gave his opening remarks greeting Jokowi at the event. Zulhas then greeted Erick Thohir, who he considered a PAN cadre. After that, Zulhas also greeted Ganjar who was also present.
