Acting Governor Of DKI Heru Budi Has No Problem With Slogan 'Jakarta Success For Indonesia' Using Anies Campaign For Presidential Elections

JAKARTA - Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono responded to the use of the slogan "Jakarta Success for Indonesia" which he initiated since the beginning of leading DKI as a campaign slogan for presidential candidates by Anies Baswedan.

Heru views that all people, including Anies as the former Governor of DKI Jakarta, are allowed to use the new slogan of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government which has been pinned since several months ago.

"Every Jakartan, a Jakartan, if you want to use the slogan that I often convey, 'JakartaFor Indonesia Success', yes, Jakartans, Indonesians, it's okay," Heru said when met at Pondok Bambu, East Jakarta, Monday, February 27.

As previously reported, Anies Baswedan said he would bring a new tagline or slogan of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov) "Jakarta Success for Indonesia" as a presidential candidate (candidate) promoted by the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) in the 2024 presidential election.

This was conveyed when he gave a speech at the 2024 PKS Winning Alert Apple at the Madya Stadium, Bung Karno Complex (GBK), Jakarta, Sunday, February 26.

"Now is the time for us to step to the next level, such as the tagline of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, which has only been used for a few months, the tagline reads 'Jakarta Success for Indonesia'. We will bring this tagline now," said Anies, Sunday, February 26.

He explained that his journey with PKS had begun since he started running for governor of DKI Jakarta in 2016, which brought him victory in the 2017 DKI Jakarta gubernatorial election.

"In the last seven years at the end of 2016 when PKS gave us a mandate as candidates for the Governor of DKI Jakarta to become a new chapter of our journey with PKS," he said.

Anies also said that during his five years as Governor of DKI Jakarta from 2017 to 2022, PKS always accompanied, supported, and closely guarded his leadership until he succeeded in bringing changes to the nation's capital.

"Together with PKS in Jakarta, we have succeeded in bismillah presenting changes, bringing progress, bringing justice to all in Jakarta," he said.

For this reason, Anies said that the principles of approach and development policies, as well as the management of the government that he has implemented in Jakarta so far, can be an illustration or a benchmark for what he will do in the future.

"Therefore, we often ask if we want to see what someone will do in the future, then look at his track record because his track record is the best predictor for the future," he explained.

Looking at the track record of his leadership in Jakarta, Anies also called for enthusiasm for thousands of PKS cadres who were present to jointly continue the next step of struggle to the national level leading Indonesia.

"If last five years we worked on Jakarta moving forward together, then God willing, in the days ahead, in the years ahead, we will advance Indonesia to advance together, advance its country, be happy with its people," said Anies.

Also attending the event were PKS President Ahmad Syaikhu and PKS Syura Council Chair Salim Segaf Al Jufri, Deputy Chairman of the Shura Council Ahmad Heryawan, PKS Secretary General Habib Aboe Bakar Allhabsy, and PKS Syuro Council Deputy Chairman Hidayat Nur Wahid (HNW).

The 2024 PKS Winning Alert Apple itself was held as a series of PKS National Working Meetings (Rakernas) in 2023 which was held for 3 days, from Friday to Sunday afternoon.

PKS has officially promoted Anies Baswedan as a candidate for the 2024 presidential election as a result of the decision of the VIII PKS Shura Council Deliberation (MS) at the PKS DPP Office, Jakarta, last Thursday.

The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has a new slogan at the end of December 2022, namely "Jakarta for Indonesia" to support the transfer of the capital city from Jakarta to the archipelago in East Kalimantan.
