JAKARTA - The Minister of Manpower Ida Fauziyah said that her ministry is strengthening several strategies to develop employment links and match and expand foreign work markets in facing challenges in the future.

Minister of Manpower Ida in a written statement received by Antara in Jakarta on Sunday said, to expand the overseas work market, the Government of Indonesia and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on August 11, 2022, had signed a Technical Arrangement regarding the One Canal Placement System Pilot Project (SPSK), for the Limited Placement of Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) in Saudi Arabia.

As a follow-up to this signing, he continued, the two countries have completed integrating applications so that SPSK can be implemented immediately in Saudi Arabia.

"The process is currently entering the recruitment stage for PMI candidates, to be inputted into SPSK," said Minister of Manpower Ida during a meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Abdul Aziz Ahmad at Wisma KBRI Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Sunday.

On that occasion, Minister of Manpower Ida also reviewed the readiness of the Indonesian Embassy in implementing SPSK in Saudi Arabia, including the readiness of necessary resources, facilities and infrastructure.

"We ask for the support of the ambassador to be able to help oversee the commitment of the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in implementing SPSK," he said.

With the support from the Indonesian Embassy in Saudi Arabia, he continued, diplomacy between Indonesia and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the field of employment can be better and more improved.

He said the challenges of employment were one of the issues related to other issues, such as economy, health, social and resilience.
