Secretary General of the Prosperous Justice Party (Secretary General of PKS) Aboe Bakar Alhabsy said the PKS decision to support Anies Baswedan as a presidential candidate (candidate) was seen as being able to increase the number of PKS votes in the 2024 General Election.

"Look at the wind, yes, there is an aura to increase (the sound of PKS), but it takes hard work," Aboe said as quoted by Antara, Sunday, February 26.

Aboe said his party is targeting to win 15 percent of the votes or 86 seats in parliament by the 2024 election.

"A total of 15 percent, 86 seats. Hopefully, the fresh air can increase, so we don't refuse, if we can get more, but everyone is fighting for it, right? It's not just PKS," he said.

Regarding the name of the vice presidential candidate (cawapres) to be promoted by PKS, he said that his party was still discussing with the Change Coalition.

He emphasized that the vice presidential candidate who will accompany Anies Baswedan will have to have adequate competence.

"What will be raised will increase the electoral victory of the president himself, and of course (controlling) certain areas according to the experts. We are happy if it has a fairly high carrying capacity," he said.

However, he was reluctant to reveal who the vice presidential candidate would be supported by PKS.

"You know better, we'll announce it in due course," he added.

In addition, he also hopes that the declaration of the Amendment Coalition with the NasDem Party and the Democratic Party can be made in the near future of Ramadan.

"God willing, we will meet with the meetings of our team of colleagues, God willing, in the near future. Before Ramadan, or BA'da Ramadhan, we will wait. Wait until our data is available again," he said.

Previously, PKS officially promoted former DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan as a presidential candidate in the 2024 presidential election, Thursday, February 23.

Pengusungan Anies sendiri merupakan hasil keputusan musyawarah majelis Syura (MMS) VIII PKS yang dilaksanakan di Kantor DPP PKS, Jakarta.

"The 8th process of the Syuro Council Deliberation today, Alhamdulillah, the discussion concluded that the figure referred to at the 7th Syuro Council Conference fell to Anies Rasyid Baswedan," said PKS President Ahmad Syaikhu.
