JAKARTA - Two female pimps for prostitution online with the initials MS and LT and a masher with the initials MI were arrested by the Tanjungpinang Police, Riau Islands Police (Kepri).

"The three were arrested on Jalan Bintan, Tanjungpinang City," said Tanjungpinang Police Chief Kombes Pol Heribertus Ompusung, quoting Antara, Saturday, February 25.

The police chief explained that the incident began when the perpetrator MS invited a victim of a underage girl with the mode of playing until she got a job on February 16, 2023.

At first, the perpetrator MS ordered the victim to busker at each restaurant and the proceeds were divided into two with the victim.

The MS perpetrator then took the victim for a walk to the Lagoi tourist area in Bintan Regency using a four-wheeled vehicle.

"Furthermore, the victim was taken to one of the Tanjungpinangs and asked to serve a guest or masher sought by MS," explained the Tanjungpinang Police Chief.

After serving guests at the guesthouse, continued the Chief of Police, MS, assisted by LTF colleagues, again got nine other guests that the victim had to serve. However, the victim turned out to be unable to serve the guest until finally reporting the incident to the Tanjungpinang Police.

"We immediately gave chase and managed to secure three perpetrators. One of them, namely MI, was arrested while in the living room waiting for the victim to be served by a minor," he said.

Meanwhile, the perpetrator MS admitted that he had been in the pimp profession for a long time. He charges Rp. 150,000 per person. MS took Rp. 100,000 and the victim only received Rp. 50,000.

"It's been about six years as a pimp," said MS.

The three suspects have been detained at the Tanjungpinang Police Headquarters and charged with Article 81 paragraph (2) of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 17 of 2016 concerning Stipulation of Government Regulations in Lieu of Law Number 1 of 2016 concerning the Second Amendment to Law Number 23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection into Law that occurred in the Tanjungpinang City area.

"For their actions, the perpetrators face a sentence of 15 years in prison," said the Tanjungpinang Police Chief.
