JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Provincial Government provides insurance claim facilities to Jakarta residents or their assets that were hit by a fallen tree in the capital city. This insurance claim is free or free of charge.

"For you, Jakarta residents who were affected by the fallen tree in terms of injuries, vehicles, and buildings. You can claim insurance for fallen trees free of charge," wrote the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government on the Jakarta Instagram account, quoted Friday, February 24.

The DKI Provincial Government said that applicants for insurance claims can come directly to the DKI Parks and City Forest Service office. Applicants can also submit insurance claims online.

The documents that must be fulfilled before submitting an insurance claim are as follows:

1. Incident report from the police.

2. Photo documentation of the victim's wound or damage to the vehicle/property.

3. Photocopy of KTP, STNK/BPKB (for vehicles).

4. A certificate from the regional service unit according to the location of the incident.

5. Receipt or estimated cost of loss.

6. Statement of not being insured (for vehicles).

7. Power of Attorney (for authorized applicants).

8. Post-mortem letter from the hospital or death certificate from the RT/RW and the village where the victim lives (for people).

The phenomenon of fallen trees often occurs during the rainy season. The causes of fallen trees include the fact that the tree is old, the condition of the tree is tilted, and the tree trunk is porous, until the trunk and branches dry out.
