JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government plans to build an alternative fuel processing or the second RDF Plant in Rorotan, North Jakarta. The RDF Plant belonging to the DKI Provincial Government was first established in Bantargebang, Bekasi, West Java.
Head of the DKI Jakarta Environmental Agency, Asep Kuswanto, admitted that his party asked for assistance from the central government to fund this waste processing project into coal equivalent fuel.
"We are trying to work together, asking for a budget from the central government, from the Ministry of PUPR or from the Environment Agency. So, it could be funds from the central government, from the state budget, or aid funds," Asep told reporters, Thursday, February 23.
The plan is for the construction of the RDF Plant in Rorotan to begin in 2024. Currently, the DKI Environmental Agency is preparing a feasibility study (FS) document for its construction.
"If the FS is finished, in 2024 hopefully the budget will be allocated to build the facilities. We will try to do it in 2024 because this year the planning has become hopefully," said Asep.
Considering that the FS document has not been completed, Asep admits that he does not know the exact value of the budget needed for the construction of the RDF Plant in Rorotan. The estimate is that the costs required are not much different from the RDF Plant in Bantargebang which will be inaugurated in the near future.
"If we learn from what we built in Bantargebang, it's IDR 1 trillion. It's possible (RDF Plant Rorotan) is that much too," he said.
Meanwhile, the construction of RDF Plant in Bantargebang is still in the commissioning stage or a complementary trial of a waste processing plant into coal equivalent fuel. The commissioning stage has been carried out since early January.
The RDF Plant in Bantargebang can process 2,000 tons of waste in one day, namely 1,000 tons that have accumulated in Bantargebang, and 1,000 tons of new waste coming from Jakarta. The 2,000 tons of processed waste will be able to produce around 700-750 tons of fuel.
The DKI Provincial Government is collaborating with the company as an opsteker or a party that buys processed RDF Plant products.
