CIANJUR - The Cianjur Regency Government, West Java, has prepared a budget of IDR 5 billion to continue the construction of the Siliwangi pedestrian. On the pedestrian, a kiosk will be built for MSMEs to street vendors with Cianjur special culinary delights. The Regent of Cianjur, Herman Suherman, said that the construction of the Siliwangi pedestrian that had been planned for two years had finally taken place. "The initial construction is around Rp600 million and in the 2023 budget it will be added Rp5 billion for the continued construction of the Siliwangi pedestrian to the T-junction of the Pangeran Hidayatullah-Joglo road," he said in Cianjur, Antara, Wednesday, February 22. The advanced construction project has been carried out in the auction process and immediately built after the winner's name is released, where in the second phase of construction a kiosk will be built for the promotion of superior MSME products and street vendors who peddle typical culinary delights. Thus residents and tourists can enjoy a new atmosphere in Cianjur city center, while shopping for MSME and culinary products. The arrangement will also be different from existing pedestrians such as Jalan Braga-Bandung and Malioboro-Yogyakarta. "A number of supporting facilities have been prepared, such as wooden chairs, internet networks and a place to charge mobile phone batteries. The existence of this pedestrian can add tourist attractions in the middle of Cianjur City and community gathering places," he said. Meanwhile, street vendors who peddle typical Cianjur snacks hope that the Siliwangi pedestrians will become their place to earn a living supported by a decent kiosk, so they no longer have to be expelled as before. "We hope to have a place along the pedestrians to peddle the products we produce, including the typical Cianjur snacks that we produce at home. Do not let its existence expel the land for us to sell," said Cianjur's typical seller, Iwan Rusmana.
