The Kalideres Police have uncovered a gang of fake police officers who claim to be drug businessmen at the West Jakarta Metro Police.

In addition to committing fraud, the perpetrators also often took away a number of valuables belonging to the victims. The four suspects are known to have the initials AS (39), DS (43), FH (27) and AP (25).

Kalideres Police Chief AKP Syafri Wasdar said the perpetrators carried out the modus operandi of claiming to be members of the Narcotics Investigation police.

"The perpetrator carried out his action by scaring his victims and showing a fake police ID card and frightening using a toy gun (fire gun)," said Kalideres Police Chief AKP Syafri Wasdar when confirmed by VOI, Tuesday, February 21.

AKP Syafri explained that the perpetrators were looking for victims by carrying out their actions mobile riding motorbikes in the West Jakarta and Tangerang areas. This gang alternately and together to find targets for victims of fraud.

"After getting the victim, this gang was followed, when they arrived, the place was quiet and stopped and claimed to be a member of the drug investigation," he said.

Then the perpetrators conducted a search and told the victim that the victim was a drug offender.

"The perpetrators convinced the victim by showing the Id card of a fake police officer and scaring him with a toy gun (fire gun)," he said.

The perpetrators have carried out many actions with this mode for half a year.

"This gang has been in action for half a year and there may be a lot of victims, but the victims who have just reported there are only 5 police reports," he said.

The police confiscated 7 motorbikes, fake police id cards and other evidence. In order to account for his actions, the perpetrator is subject to Article 378 of the Criminal Code with a threat of 4 years in prison.
