BANDUNG - Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos) Tri Rismaharini handed over assistance to six people who have rare diseases in West Java. The assistance was from donors who were collected to help treat beneficiaries.

Assistance from donors is collected through the Kitabisa.com platform worth a minimum of IDR 70 million for each beneficiary who requires operational funds for treatment at the hospital.

"I would like to express my gratitude to the donors and the good people there who made their contribution to our children, who are currently in various kinds of pain, through We Can, I would like to thank you," said Social Minister Risma as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, February 21.

Social Minister Risma said the beneficiaries had received treatment support with BPJS Kesehatan. However, beneficiaries still need money for nutritional needs, food and redeeming medicines that have not been covered by BPJS Kesehatan, because they cannot afford it.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Social Affairs also provides support in the form of treatment pick-up facilities, as well as lodging if beneficiaries can only be treated in hospitals in big cities around Jakarta and Bandung.

Social Minister Risma said that her party scans 5-10 media every day, as well as social media to find people who need medical help.

"This does not use procedures, we immediately arrest this as soon as there are media friends who fit and then we immediately come there. We don't use any procedures," he said.

On the same occasion, Kitabisa.com Representative, West Java Regional Coordinator Hospital, Restu Rahayu said the collected assistance had been more than IDR 7 billion for 2,000 beneficiaries.

"At this time we will help six people. Collection of donations from December 2022 to January 2023 is at least given to patients of Rp. 70 million," said Restu.

The six beneficiaries who received donations from Kitabisa.com were Elisah's child, Elzio Gauzzan Everos baby, Rezki Maulana's baby, Muhammad Akbar's baby, Biqis baby, and Safri bin Nazar.

The beneficiaries have a rare disease to a disability that requires long-term medical treatment. They received treatment by Balai Intan Suweno Bogor, and the Bogor "Galih Pakuan" Center.
