Could It Be That UII Lecturers Who Had Been Declared Missing TURNed Out To Be Exposed To The Disclosure Movement?

JAKARTA - The motive for Ahmad Munasir Rafie Pratama to change the route back to his homeland and even fly to Boston, the US is still unknown. However, the Chancellor of the Islamic University of Indonesia (UII) Yogyakarta Fathul Wahid did not believe that there were allegations that he was exposed to the forbidden movement.

Ahmad Munasir Rafie Pratama (AMRP), is a lecturer who reportedly lost contact after visiting the University of South-Eastern Norway (USN) in Norway.

Rafie was supposed to land at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang, Banten, on Thursday 16 February at 18.00 WIB, from Istanbul, Turkey, on a Turkish Airlines plane.

But in reality, Ahmad Munasir Rafie Pratama was detected entering the United States through an airport in Boston on Monday (13/2). This finding was obtained by the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemlu) based on data on US Cultural and Border Protection (United States Customs and Border Protection).

For Fathul Wahid, Rafie is an intelligent figure. It can be seen from the traces of the academics and the works produced. Rafie, who was detected as in the United States, is also listed as Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Information Engineering UII Yogyakarta.

Fathul does not yet know the reason or motivation for Rafie to change his return route from Norway without telling anyone, including the family.

"So far, all the tasks that we have given are carried out properly, so there must be something that we don't know for sure until that happens. Why can't good people not report it, it's like a child at home suddenly playing at a neighbor's place and suddenly not coming home, something like that," said Fathul Wahid at the Yogyakarta UII Integrated Campus on Jalan Kaliurang, Sleman Regency, Monday, February 20, as reported by Antara.

Regarding the purpose of the lecturer at the Faculty of Industrial Technology in the US without the knowledge of his family and campus, Fathul was reluctant to speculate. He still believes that Rafie has no connection with prohibited movements.

"We don't see Mas Rafie ever affiliated with an institution whose vision and mission contradict UII. So, if there is a theory that says it is related to those movements, it tends to be very small the opportunity; even though we don't have definite information that ensures that theory, but it's unlikely," he explained.

According to Fathul, Rafie is used to traveling abroad to work on international projects. Rafie is recorded twice going to the US in 2022.

"He is used to going abroad, he is used to international cooperation. So, this is a special case, really an unprecedented case in UII history," he added.

Fathul emphasized that UII is currently still focusing on finding the exact whereabouts of Ahmad Munasir Rafi Pratama in Boston, coordinating with the local Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia (KJRI).

"We don't know the position in Boston for sure, so we need time to track it down; and our main mission is to bring Mas Rafie back to Indonesia," he said.
