JAKARTA - Janto, one of the witnesses presented at the drug trafficking case trial involving the former West Sumatra Police Chief, Inspector General Teddy Minahasa, admitted that he was ordered by Kompol Kasranto to sell Teddy's methamphetamine. The sale order occurred when Janto was still a member of the police and Kasranto as the Head of the Kalibaru Police, North Jakarta in August 2022. From this sale, Janto's total wages reached Rp22 million. Kasranto at that time received one kilogram of crystal methamphetamine which was ready to be sold. Kasranto then asked Janto to help find someone who wanted to buy crystal methamphetamine. "So he (Kasranto) at that time in 8 months he offered me methamphetamine. 'But please find an opponent to', he told me like that," Janto said in a trial held at the West Jakarta State Administration, Antara, Monday, February 20. Janto agreed to the request. Exactly one month later a foreign number contacted Janto via WhatsApp to ask about methamphetamine. Later, the number was discovered to belong to a prospective buyer of methamphetamine. "He (Alex) said 'there is something from the police chief? How much is it?'. I said 'IDR 500 million'. 'Yes, what is the form of payment?' 'I have to cash', he said Janto at trial. On September 24, 2022, Kasranto ordered Janto to take one kilogram of crystal methamphetamine into the police room. Janto took the methamphetamine and immediately handed it over to Alex in Lampung Bahari, North Jakarta. Alex immediately gave Rp500 million. The money was then taken by Janto and immediately handed over to Kasranto. Janto was given a salary of Rp. 20 million from Kasranto. The second sale, Kasranto again asked Janto to sell one ounce of crystal methamphetamine. But this time Kasranto escorted the methamphetamine to the front of the port fire office. There, Kasranto handed over the illicit goods to Janto. Janto took the item and returned to selling it to Alex for IDR 50 million. Because of this, Janto received a salary of Rp. 2,000,000. The third sale occurred again a few days later. Janto was asked to return to selling one ounce of crystal methamphetamine by Kasranto. This time the methamphetamine was not purchased by Alex but a fisherman named Nasir for Rp. 50 million. The process of handing over methamphetamine from Kasranto to Janto also took place in front of the port office. Nasir sent the payment of methamphetamine to Kasranto through an account in Lutfi's name. "Kasranto asked 'only Rp48 million has been transferred," he said. The last transaction occurred on October 10, 2022. At that time Kasranto escorted the methamphetamine to the front of the port post. Janto took the methamphetamine and handed it over to other buyers for IDR 50 million. After the transaction, Janto and Kasranto were arrested by the Polda Metro Jaya for drug sales cases. Polda Metro Jaya investigators stated that Inspector General Teddy Minahasa had ordered his subordinates to set aside evidence of methamphetamine from the results of the disclosure of the case to be circulated. The Bukit Tinggi Police initially wanted to destroy 40 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, but Inspector General Teddy Minahasa allegedly ordered to exchange five kilograms of crystal methamphetamine for tawas. The embezzlement of drug evidence was finally uncovered by a series of disclosures of narcotics cases by the Central Jakarta Metro Police and Polda Metro Jaya. A total of 1.7 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine has been circulated. Meanwhile, the remaining 3.3 kilograms were confiscated by officers.
