JAKARTA - Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) presents an environmentally friendly and sustainable destination called "Green TMII" to meet the comfort and demand of visitors for a cool and beautiful air atmosphere.

"In the TMII area as much as 70 percent of the open space is green and 30 percent of the buildings are," said TMII Vice President Executive Claudia Ingkiriwang as quoted by Antara, Sunday.

The concept of reforestation in the TMII area, he said, is so that visitors, especially those living in Jakarta who have difficulty finding green areas, can be creative safely, comfortably in clean air.

"A kind of 'oase' for the metropolitan community," said Claudia.

According to him, visitors who come to TMII are also required to park their vehicles because the TMII area is also free of carbon emissions.

"No cars and motorbikes should enter. Not only pollution of emissions, but also for the safety of children when playing on the streets of TMII," he said.

He said, the large number of green open spaces makes the air cooler, so it is very comfortable for visitors who want to exercise, relax with their families, remove fatigue at the weekend which is definitely far from dust and pollution in the capital city.

According to Claudia, visitors don't have to worry if they want to go around in the TMII area because the management provides free electric vehicles for visitors who want to go around

"Of course, by prioritizing people with disabilities and families who bring children. There are also rentals for bicycles and electric scooters," he said.

According to him, the TMII concept in general in accordance with its original purpose is as an Indonesian storefront (show case of Indonesia).

"So, the point is that if someone wants to know about Indonesia, they will come to TMII. Here we can see the culture, traditional houses, people and their hospitality and the greenness of Indonesia," said Claudia.

Not only that, he also wants visitors who come to TMII to be inspired that Indonesia is a country rich in culture and in diversity that makes Indonesia Indah.

"At TMII, we don't just look at culture, but become part of the culture itself, such as the friendliness of Indonesians, diversity, regularity. Indonesia is participating in world sustainability," he said.

As comfortable as one of the visitors, Rumarda (69) welcomed the concept of "Green TMII" because it provided coolness and comfort to visitors.

"TMII is one of the city's forests, so it must be maintained. In East Jakarta it is difficult to find urban forests because they have been converted into housing," said the man who lives in Rawamangun, East Jakarta.

In terms of facilities, he said, it was sufficient, such as bicycle lanes, electric buses for visitors and others.

"But, the route of guide for disability needs to be improved," he said.
