SEMARANG From behind bars, dozens of detainees at the Central Java Police sang a letter from Al Ankabut verse 45. During the reading, it is not uncommon to hear sobs from prisoners, as a form of regret for their behavior.

The tadarus activity and the reading of the holy book for prisoners at the Central Java Police detention center, is one of the routine activities carried out by the Central Java Regional Police's Ditttahti as one of the activities for mental development and awareness of prisoners.

The concept of "One Day, One Juz" was warmly welcomed by the detainees.

In this activity, apart from reading the holy book, congregational prayer activities were also carried out and listened to lectures from preachers from the Ministry of Religion.

"Hopefully these activities (certificates of spirituality and tadarus) can be a motivation for prisoners to repent. Review the actions that have been done, and later when they return to society they can become good and useful people for the community," said Dittahti Polda Central Java AKBP Benny Setyowadi, in a written statement, Friday, February 17.

In addition to religious activities, detainees at the Central Java Police routinely also carry out physical coaching activities in the form of small sports and regular health checks carried out in the detention room.

"This routine activity is carried out to build the motivation and closeness of prisoners to God. In addition, we also monitor their physical and health so that they stay healthy. With that, it is hoped that the prisoners will always be enthusiastic and optimistic about looking at life," he concluded.
