JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) officially detained the briber Judge Yustitial or Registrar in Lieu of the Supreme Court (MA) Edy Wibowo, Wahyudi Hardi. The head of the Sandi Karya Hospital Foundation (RS) Makassar is suspected of giving up to Rp3.7 billion. "Regarding the need for the investigation process, the investigative team detained the suspect WH for the first 20 days," said KPK Deputy Chair Nurul Ghufron at a press conference at the KPK's Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Friday, February 17. Wahyudi will be detained at the KPK Detention Center at the Jaya Guntur Pomdam. The detention will be extended according to the needs of the anti-corruption commission investigator. In this case, Ghufron explained that this case began when Wahyudi, who is the Chairman of the Sandi Karya Hospital Foundation (RS) Makassar, became the representative of the respondent for the postponement of debt payment obligations (PKPU) at the Makassar District Court. This application was submitted by PT Mulya Husada Jaya. From that decision, the SKM Hospital was declared bankrupt. The hospital then filed an appeal because they did not accept the decision. Furthermore, Wahyudi took the initiative to prepare money and communicate with Muhajir Effendie and Albasari who are civil servants of the Supreme Court (MA). At that time, both were asked to help oversee and monitor the cassation which resulted in the giving of money. "As a form of commitment earlier, WH is suspected of giving some money in stages to reach Rp3.7 billion to EW," said Ghufron. The money was not given directly but through Muhajir and Albasari. "The money was handed over when the cassation process was still ongoing in the Supreme Court," he said. "The giving of some of the money allegedly affected the contents of the verdict and after the money was given, the decision of the cassation desired by WH was granted and the contents of the decision stated that the SKM Hospital was not declared bankrupt," continued Ghufron. As a result of his actions, Wahyudi is suspected of violating Article 5 paragraph (1) letter a or b Article 13 or Article 6 paragraph (1) letter a of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law Number 31 of 1999.
