JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK) Muhadjir Effendy invites universities to play an active role in real work lecture programs (KKN) for stunting prevention and extreme poverty. "Universities need to play an active role in stunting prevention and handling programs and extreme poverty in order to run optimally," said Muhadjir Effendy as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, February 17. The Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture gave an example, universities can integrate various real job lecture activities (KKN) students with stunting prevention and prevention programs. The Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture added that universities can also provide assistance to communities, especially targeted families. "Universities can also participate in intensifying campaigns and education on the importance of a balanced nutritious diet rich in animal protein to the public in order to prevent stunting," he said. "So that stunting prevalence acceleration programs can run optimally, it requires the involvement of many parties, ranging from the government at the central and regional levels, higher education, business worlds, communities to all elements of society," he said.Muhadjir also said that in accordance with Presidential Regulation Number 72 of 2021 concerning the Acceleration of Stunting Reduction, the Coordinating Ministry for PMK will continue to intensify coordination, synchronization, control, and escort in the acceleration of stunting reduction.

The current prevalence of stunting in Indonesia based on the Indonesian Nutrition Status Survey (SSGI), he said, was 21.6 percent. "Meanwhile, the government targets a reduction in stunting prevalence to be reduced to 14 percent by 2024, for that it needs collaboration and synergy from various parties so that the target of reducing stunting rates can be achieved as expected," said Muhadjir Effendy.
