GORONTALO - Police are investigating the alleged illegal transactions of the sale of subsidized fertilizers in Tolinggula District, North Gorontalo, Gorontalo Province.

"The transaction is suspected to be illegal because it was not carried out on target farmers who received subsidies," said North Gorontalo Police Chief AKBP Juprisan Pratama Ramadhan Nasution, in Gorontalo, Thursday, February 16, confiscated by Antara.

He ensured that the investigation into the sale of subsidized fertilizers was not on target, being one of the commitments of the North Gorontalo Police in law enforcement throughout the region.

"We have taken over the handling of the alleged illegal buying and selling practice of subsidized fertilizers in border areas. Previously, it was handled by the Tolinggula Police," he said.

Evidence has also been secured, in the form of a pickup truck carrying subsidized fertilizers.

The police chief emphasized that his party would take firm action if the allegations were proven true.

"The public is expected to be patient waiting for the results of the investigation. If there are individuals who take actions that violate the law for selling subsidized fertilizers that are not in accordance with the designation, of course law enforcement must be implemented so that farmers do not continue to be harmed," he said.

Previously, the Polres received a report from the Tolinggula Police along with members of the Gorontalo Ance Robot Provincial DPRD, on Monday, February 13 at around 21.00 WITA.

They managed to catch allegations of illegal practices of selling subsidized fertilizers. This allegation is based on public reports related to the sale of subsidized fertilizers belonging to the Trade Business (UD) in Papualangi Village, Tolinggula District.

"It is suspected that subsidized fertilizers for the Papualangi Village area will be resold to Palele District, Central Sulawesi. We continue to investigate this allegation," he said.

Head of the North Gorontalo Food Crops and Plantation Service Asrin Menu said his party had also dispatched a team to track the allegation.

"It is suspected that the illegal transaction of selling subsidized fertilizers occurred at the retail level. The team has gone down and collected information and data in Papualangi Village," he added.

His party also invited the legal process as suspected misappropriation of community findings.
