The Ministry Of Law And Human Rights Encourages 189,405 MSMEs In Babel To Register Intellectual Property

The Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of the Archipelago Province (Kemenkumham) Bangka Belitung (Babel) encouraged 189,405 micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to register their intellectual property.

Head of the Babel Islands Kemenkumham Regional Office, Harun Sulianto, said the registration of intellectual property was to facilitate the development of family businesses and economies.

"Currently, only 566 of the 189,971 total MSMEs inBabel have received legal protection," he said in Pangkalpinang, Babel, Thursday, February 16, as reported by Antara.

He said, as many as 566 MSMEs had received legal protection. With details of 194 MSMEs have registered trademarks, 368 copyright registrations and 4 patent registrations are spread across Bangka Regency, West Bangka, Central Bangka, South Bangka, Belitung, East Belitung and Pangkalpinang City.

"We invite MSMEs to register their intellectual property and individual companies," he said.

According to him, individual companies provide legal protection through the separation of personal and corporate assets in the form of capital statements, as well as making it easier for business actors to access financing from banks.

"We are ready to assist and facilitate this MSME actor to register the intellectual property of his products. Do not let this typical regional product be claimed by other regions," he said.

He stated that to strengthen synergy, the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of Babel will implement the MoU with local governments regarding the implementation of optimization of the function of legal services and human rights.

The scope of the object of this agreement is generally in the fields of legal and human rights services, immigration, and correctional services. Then with TVRI Bangka Belitung related to the provision of education and dissemination of information on duties and functions of legal services and human rights.

"Let's strengthen the synergy together to advance Bangka Belitung which is cultured by law and human rights, so that Bangka Belitung is achieved which is advanced and prosperous," he said.
