JAKARTA - The Directorate General (Ditjen) of Immigration of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) said that the issuance of passports on the same day or day did not violate the rules because it was clearly regulated in Government Regulation (PP) Number 28 of 2019. Although applications for passport acceleration do not need to be registered through the M-Passport Application, the number of applicants that can be served every day is limited. "Determination of passport acceleration in laws and regulations is intended to prevent the risk of abuse of authority or misappropriation by irresponsible persons," he explained. Finally, one day passport service payments are completed in a non-cash manner (cashless) through the Ministry of Finance's SIMPONI. Applicants will receive a billing code for further transfers through banks, ATMs, or internet/mobile banking. This is as stated in Government Regulation Number 28 of 2019 regarding Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) for passport acceleration services of IDR 1 million. Not only in Indonesia, but passport issuance acceleration services with additional fees set legally are also implemented in various countries. This service is generally known as fast tracks or urgent applications. Several countries that apply include United Kingdom, United States, Australia, India and Pakistan.
