Lusia Dyah Suciati said the cattle population in Boyolali as of February reached 160,431 cows consisting of 99,727 beef cattle and 60,604 dairy cows. "So, the meat supply ahead of Ramadan for the year is still safe. We hope that the LSD case in Boyolali will be resolved soon so that it does not reduce the stock of meat entering Ramadan," he said. LSD suspect cases in Boyolali have spread to 20 sub-districts from 22 sub-districts in Boyolali and two areas that are still free of LSD cases, namely Selo and Sawit. Boyolali has taken care of it by means of livestock treatment based on community reports. His party also conducted socialization to sub-districts where there were indeed many LSD reports or were included in the red LSD zone, such as in Juwangi, Wonosamodro, Andong, Simo, Cepogo, Boyolali districts and Mojosongo. Meanwhile, the Head of the Animal Health Division (Keswan) Cares for Boyolali, veterinarian Afiany Rifdania, added that LSD cases in Boyolali were still increasing. The number of LSD suspected cases in this area, as of Wednesday (15/2), increased by 67 cases bringing the total to 1,417 cases. The number was tested positive for 32. He recovered from LSD as many as 34 and the remaining suspected cases became 1,383. His party in handling the LSD case in Boyolali in addition to providing treatment and outreach to the community also carried out vaccinations for healthy livestock. The number of cattle that have been vaccinated to anticipate LSD is 3,717 targets (tails) spread across 22 sub-districts in the district. "The treatment of livestock affected by LSD is carried out due to the cause of the virus and requires good livestock resistance. So it is necessary to help the community of farmers in terms of feed management and cage cleanliness. Thus, sick livestock immediately recover and those who are healthy are not affected by the LSD virus.
