The panel of judges sentenced the defendant Ferdy Sambo to death in the premeditated murder case of Yosua alias Brigadier J. There were seven burdensome considerations behind the verdict, ranging from criminal acts committed to aides to tarnishing the National Police institution in the eyes of the Internasional. The aggravating consideration was conveyed by Chief Judge Wahyu Iman Santosa before reading the verdict to Ferdy Sambo. "The defendant's circulation was carried out by his own aide who had served for more than three years," Judge Wahyu said in court, Monday, February 13. The second point in burdensome consideration is that Ferdy Sambo's actions resulted in deep sorrow for Brigadier J's family. Then, the actions of the former Head of the Propam Division caused widespread unrest and noise in the community. "The defendant's actions should not be carried out in the position of law enforcement officers and the main acting officer of the National Police, namely the Head of the Propam Police Division," he said. "The defendant's actions have tarnished the Polri institution in the eyes of the Indonesian people and the international community," continued Judge Wahyu. Then, Ferdy Sambo's actions also involved dozens of members of the National Police in the obstruction of justice case. Some of them are Hendra Kurniawan, Agus Nurpattra, Arif Rachman Arifin, Chuck Putranto, Baiquni Wibowo, and Irfan Widyanto. Finally, Ferdy Sambo was considered buying when giving information during the trial. "The defendant was complicated in giving testimony at trial and did not admit his actions," said Judge Wahyu. The South Jakarta District Court has decided that Ferdy Sambo, the former Head of the Propam Division at the National Police Headquarters, is guilty of premeditated murder of Brigadier J. The husband of Putri Candrawathi, was sentenced to death. In its decision, the panel of judges believes that Ferdy Sambo has violated Article 340 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 55 Paragraph 1 to (1) of the Criminal Code. "The defendant Ferdy Sambo has been legally and convincingly proven guilty of committing a criminal act, participating in jointly premeditated murder," said Judge Wahyu.
