Take The Ball In Gorong-gurong When It Rains, An Elementary School Boy In Mataram Is Even Lost In A Dry Current

JAKARTA - The Mataram Search and Rescue Office (SAR) team is looking for an elementary school student who was reported missing and drowned in the Banjar Kemuning river, Selong District, East Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara, last Sunday, February 12 at around 16.30 WITA.

"We have deployed a team from the Kayangan SAR Post since last night, after receiving a report from the East Lombok SAR Unit," said Head of the Operations and Alert Section of the Mataram SAR Office, Muhdar, quoted from Antara, Monday, February 13.

The victim, known as Faisal (8 years) from East Kelayu Presak, Selong District, visited his grandmother's house next to the Selong Village Office.

Faisal, who is still in the second grade of elementary school, played ball when it was raining heavily. With the intention of taking the ball that fell into the culverts, he even slipped and was dragged by the current of heavy water whose flow led to the river.

Local residents who knew about the incident tried to search, but to no avail. Then, residents reported it to the authorities.

The joint SAR team that arrived at the scene also conducted a search by following the river flow until late at night, but to no avail.

The elements involved conducted searches from the Kayangan SAR Post Rescue Team, TNI, Polri, East Lombok SAR Unit, East Lombok BPBD, East Lombok Damkar, and local residents.

"Search efforts have resumed since Monday morning by following the river flow. However, until this afternoon the results are still nil, hopefully they can be found soon," said Muhdar.
