High Rainfall, Cianjur BPBD Alert Dozens Of Officers And Volunteers

The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Cianjur Regency, West Java, has alerted dozens of officers and volunteers at natural disaster-prone points in line with the high rainfall that has hit most of the Cianjur area since the last few days.

The Acting Head of BPBD said that since the last few days the high rainfall has hit most of the Cianjur area which is included in the red zone of natural disasters in West Java, so vigilance continues to be increased.

"It was recorded that from Saturday night to Sunday afternoon, heavy rains still hit most areas of Cianjur from north to south, so we have alerted officers and volunteers in each region to be aware of disasters," he said.

Even though it rained for almost 24 hours without stopping, the Cianjur BPBD has not received reports of natural disasters such as floods, landslides, and land movement that have occurred. He hopes that no natural disasters will occur, but for preparedness he has placed officers. In fact, he also asked all volunteers spread across every village and sub-district to report the situation according to their observations every 8 hours, including asking residents to be alert and alert to disasters as the peak of the rainy season peaks.

"We are also coordinating with the sub-districts and villages to be observant in reading natural signs of a disaster, immediately evacuating residents when it rains heavily for a long duration," he said.

He also appealed to motorists passing through a number of fallen tree-prone points such as the Puncak Line, Jalan Raya Bandung-Cianjur, and a number of points on the southern route to be extra vigilant when crossing and avoiding parking vehicles under trees.

"Since the last few days along the main route and the Cianjur protocol, many trees have fallen, so when it rains heavily with strong winds, motorists must be extra careful," he said.
