JAKARTA - An explosion occurred due to a gas cylinder leak that caused two houses on Jalan Nusa Indah 4, Duren Sawit District, East Jakarta, to be destroyed. The explosion of gas cylinders was also accompanied by bursts of fire.

Damage caused by the explosion destroyed the roof of the house, walls and doors collapsed due to vibrations of a 12 kilogram gas cylinder explosion. Meanwhile, 3 residents suffered burns.

"The explosion was quite big, people panicked too. Three victims, husband, wife and children. They were taken to the Islamic Hospital. The injuries were severe, burns," Nanang, a local resident told reporters, Sunday, February 12.

Nanang explained, when there was an explosion from one of the houses, another resident who heard immediately ran out of their respective homes.

"When there was an explosion, we people came out, I greeted the victim. I saved the baby. When I came back again, her husband was lying down. I immediately turned off the electricity," he said.

According to residents, the sound of an explosion occurred from the victim's house with a loud bang. The three victims have also undergone treatment at Pondok Kopi Islamic Hospital. Meanwhile, the explosion case was handled by the Duren Sawit Police.
